Kids and Youth Program Duisburg

The promotion of digital skills in socially disadvantaged regions is an indispensable issue for our society. Based on this concern, the ReDI School's children and youth program was created. The program in Duisburg promotes the digital skills of students in schools with a high percentage of migrants. Through playful approaches and innovative teaching methods, we arouse their curiosity for technology, strengthen their empathy and cooperation. Furthermore, we support them in the long term to be successful in their careers through the digital skills they acquire, including basic knowledge such as cybersecurity and ten-finger typing, and more complex topics such as coding and programming.

In addition to the ReDI courses that are conducted by our teachers during regular school hours, courses are held as workshops with external partners with a focus on project-based learning. Together with professional developers, we offer, for example, Calliope workshops that provide a playful introduction to programming and algorithmic thinking. Company visits are also conducted. In the last course unit, the students* present what they have learned in groups on a "Demo Day" (see film).
