It’s a Match! Sondos Jaber and All4Labels Group
Achieving success often demands a steadfast belief in oneself. Life’s journey is filled with challenges and hardships, and resilience is key; when you fall seven times, you get up eight. This mindset is essential in overcoming the fear of rejection and persevering through setbacks.
Sondos Jaber embodies this spirit, often reminding herself and others, “Don’t give up, never give up.” Her resilience resonates with the words of DeShauna Barber, an American motivational speaker who eloquently stated, “At times, our purpose drops in our laps as if the heavens threw it by accident. Do not fear failure, but please be terrified of regret.”
Barber’s statement highlights a harsh reality: you will face countless rejections and setbacks. One hundred doors may be slammed in your face, and you might hear “no” repeatedly. Yet, she urges, do not let these rejections deter you. The path to success is paved with perseverance and the courage to push through adversity.
Sondos’s journey reflects this truth. Despite her strong desire to learn, she initially struggled to find her footing.
She first realized that to reach her goal of working in management, she needed to speak and communicate in German at a C1 level. It was also a priority for Sondos to never stop learning about new IT technology and programs and to be proficient in all of them.
It took Sondos seven years of relentless effort, learning, and perseverance to secure her first significant success—an internship. “I really couldn’t accomplish it without ReDI School. I joined four courses there,” she said.
“My first course at ReDI School was Introduction to Computer Science. I got to know the basics of programming and languages like HTML, a little bit of Java, and Python.”
Her determination paid off at the ReDI Demo Day, where students present projects they’ve been working on. Sondos presented her project, in which she used Python for data analytics purposes. Her instructor worked at the consultation company CGI, impressed by her project, and after learning more about her educational background, he helped her by getting an interview with CGI.
“It really was a miracle for me because it’s the first step. I’ve waited, trained, and worked for seven years to get an internship. This was my first success after many trials.” After completing her internship, Sondos continued to develop her skills in cloud technologies like Azure by taking additional courses at ReDI School.
After Sondos completed her internship with CGI, she registered to join the ReDI Talent Pool and Mentorship program, which is available to all members of the ReDI community.
That was when she came into contact with her employer, All4Labels Group, a global packaging group. Her initial interview was for an internship position but instead they offered her a job based on her qualifications and skills.
As a woman and a mother, balancing her professional development with her family responsibilities was akin to having two full-time jobs. “During the day, I was caring for my children. I used the time they were in Kindergarten to learn, but it wasn’t enough. I had to use the time to continue my studies after they went to sleep.”
Balancing both aspects of life can be challenging and overwhelming. Still, Sondos encourages others to start by taking small, continuous steps because no matter how small they are, they are still steps in the right direction.
She recommends that all learners keep their eye on the market, look at the job description, work to gain those skills, network, and especially learn the German language. When facing difficulties, challenges, rejection, and failures, she encourages people to continue learning until the chance or opportunity comes.
“Don’t give up if you get too many rejections or it takes a really long time to reach your goal. I faced that. I understand that feeling because I lived it, but don’t give up.”
Sondos is a shining example of dedication, perseverance, and, above all, hope. Despite encountering numerous challenges over the years, she never gave up hope and stayed true to her belief in her own abilities.
