ReDI Career Track: User-Centered Design

Course Overview

User Interface equips you with the essential skills and knowledge needed to enter the field of UI design. Through a series of engaging lectures and hands-on exercises, you'll learn to create visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces. By the end of the course, you'll have developed a UI case study for your professional portfolio, showcasing your newfound skills and creativity.

  • In this course, you will master:

    • Laws and Principles of UI: Understand the fundamental laws and principles that govern effective UI design.

    • Essential Elements of UI: Learn about key UI elements, including color theory, typography, and layout.

    • Different Tools and Platforms: Gain proficiency in using various design tools, with a focus on Figma.

    • Data Visualization: Learn to represent data in a visually compelling way to enhance user experience.

    • Elements of Digital Interaction: Understand the components that make digital interactions intuitive and engaging.

    • You identify as: A woman or nonbinary

    • You have a high level in English: Ensuring you can understand and engage with course materials.

    • You are digitally comfortable: You have a basic understanding of digital tools and technologies.

    • You have a high interest in: User Interface, designs and are passionate about creating visually appealing and user-friendly designs with design tools like Figma.

    • You can commit: Commit to attending classes regularly and participating actively to at least 10 out of 12 classes.

    • Networking Events: Participate in networking events to connect with industry professionals, peers, and potential employers.

    • Career Coaching: Apply for a career coach to guide you in your professional journey and receive guidance from professionals in the IT industry

    • Career & Soft Skills Workshops: Participate in workshops designed to empower you and to improve your career readiness and soft skills.

    • ReDI Alumni Network: Become a part of the ReDI Alumni Network and the ReDI community

    • SkillsBuild Self-paced eLearning: Utilize self-paced learning modules by IBM and ReDI School to further enhance your skills.

    • ReDI School Certification: Earn a ReDI School Certification if you attend 10 out of 12 classes.

    These supplementary activities are designed to complement your learning, provide real-world exposure, help you build a strong network, and support your career growth in User Interface.
