Course Overview

In this 14-week course, you build your foundation in Python for your Data Analytics / Data Science, Machine Learning  & AI  journey. You learn the basic concepts of Python for analyzing data. This is the beginner course of the Data Analytics / Data Science & AI track.

    1. Fundamentals of Python

      • Operators & Precedence

      • Conditional Operations

      • Using and Writing Function

      • Using Libraries

      • Version control with Git & GitHub

      • Error Handling

    2. Introduction to Data Analysis

      • How to use python to analyze data

      • Pandas

      • NumPy

      • SQL

      • Basic Visualizations

    3. Project

    4. Job Readiness: Soft skills through career trainings geared towards preparing you for job applications & interviews, networking events and job fairs.

    5. You will learn from experts in the industry to start a career in tech.

    • you are able to understand and speak English

    • you can commit at least 10 hours a week (classes + self-study)

    • If you have a basic understanding of Python

  • You can prepare yourself for this course by completing the following material.

    1. Watch the How Computers Work YouTube series.

    2. Watch this video titled Introduction to Computer Science for Beginners.

    3. Complete: Python for programmers SkillsBuild

    4. Learn more about the job market. Data Science, Data Analyst vs Engineer, Differences in Job Titles.

    • you can run programs in Python

    • you have built your own Python project

    • you know what it takes to start a career in tech, how to set up a good Linkedin profile, and how to create a powerful CV.

    • you are ready to start the Data Analytics or Data Science & AI course at ReDI

  • This course is held completely online via Zoom. It is important that you can attend both sessions per week.

    In addition, homework, group projects and your personal study takes place online.

    • You should expect to spend a minimum of 8 hours for career workshops or trainings during the semester.
