Become a Front-End Developer

Course Overview

This course provides you with a solid foundation in web development covering the essential building blocks of modern web design and interactivity. You will learn how to create functional websites and web applications using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. There will be ample opportunity for hand-on practice in class, and apply your knowledge in a final project.

    • Learn the basics of HTML/CSS to be able to make simple web pages

    • Develop a strong foundation in JavaScript (variables, data types, operators, conditionals, loops, functions, arrays, objects) to build interactive, dynamic web pages

    • Build simple, interactive web apps by using JavaScript to manipulate the DOM and handle events.

    • Use Github for version control and code collaboration

    • Job Readiness: Soft skills through career trainings geared towards preparing you for job applications & interviews, networking events and job fairs.

    • You will learn from experts in the industry to start a career in tech.

    • You speak English

    • You can commit to at least 10 hours a week (classes + self-study)

    • You have either successfully completed the ReDI course Introduction to Code, Data and Design OR you already have similar skills.

  • You can continue with the Front-End Development track. The next course is Advanced Web Development. The course may not be offered each semester.

    • You should expect to spend a minimum of 8 hours for career workshops or trainings during the semester.
